Education Requirements

The State of Washington DQAC requires foreign trained dentists or international dental graduates to receive at least 2 additional predoctoral or postdoctoral academic years of dental school education in a CODA approved dental program, and receive certification by the dean that the candidate achieved the same level of didactic and clinical competence as expected of a graduate of that school.


Written Exam Requirements

NBDE parts I/II or the Canadian equivalent.

Clinical Exam Requirements

The State of Washington DQAC accepts all regional exams: WREB, CRDTS, NERB, SRTA, CITA, and all other individual states exams.
In lieu of a clinical exam, Washington accepts a qualifying postgraduate residency program, one that is located in Washington State, in a community health clinic that serves predominantly low income patients or in a dental care health professional shortage area, other criteria apply.
