Dental License in Florida for Foreign Trained Dentists
Florida is another state that many foreign trained dentists decide to live and work in, there are a lot of similarities to some of the other major states when it comes to steps to obtaining a dental license, lets see how the process works there.
Education Requirements:
A foreign trained dentist must complete a program of study at an accredited American dental school and demonstrate receipt of a DDS or DMD from that school or, complete a 2-year supplemental dental education program at an accredited dental school that provides remediation to the level of an accredited DDS or DMD program, and receive a dental diploma, degree, or certificate as evidence of successful program completion.Clinical Examination Requirement:
All applicants for licensure must successfully complete ADEX Dental Licensing Exam administered in Florida, or ADEX administered in a jurisdiction other than Florida if the exam was completed after October 1, 2011.Written Examination Requirements:
Another standard requirements as in all other states is successfully completing the NBDE parts I & II within 10 years of the date of the application.Laws and Rules examination, you will be notified of eligibility to take this exam after you submit the licensure application.
Other Requirements:
Proof of completion of a minimum two hour course in the prevention of medical errors within the past two years.Current proof of training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the basic support level.
